BlorboBash is a small event that runs in June and is all about canon characters!
'Blorbo' is a common slang term for a fictional character you really like. This event is a spotlight all of the fictional characters we love from existing media and enjoy making creative fanworks!
This is a small scale event that follows our typical CreativeClash format of team vs team, only instead of posting your OCs for attacks, it's all about canon characters!
You 'attack' people by creating content of their favourite canon characters. You earn more points for creating something for someone of the opposite team to you, but you can also earn points for friendly fire if you want to gift things to your teammates.
-
General Event Rules
- 1 -Respect your opponent's boundaries and only create content for them that they approve of. When in doubt, ask them if they're comfortable with your idea, or don't create that content at all.
- 2 -
All creations submitted must be created by you during the timeframe of the event. You are not allowed to submit creations made prior to the event, or ask to submit after the event deadline.
- 3 -
You must include content warnings on the content if it is applicable on Hubs and submissions, especially when involving Dead Dove or potentially triggering content.
- 4 -
Submit your attacks using the submissions database provided for the event. Any other methods of submission won't count towards the event goals.- 5 -
For your points to count towards the event goals, both you and your opponent must be signed up for a team and have the attacked characters listed in their >Fandom Hub<.
If the request involves an OC, this character must be listed in the user's >OC Hub< to be a valid target.- 6 -
No AI-generated content is allowed to be posted as a submission, or in your Character Hubs as reference material. Please see Rule 15 in our >Rules<. -
Submission Rules
Points for BlorboBash are >listed here<
- 1 -
Submissions must be posted on the submissions database created for the event.
Images must be posted to a valid off-site image host; links to images hosted by Discord are invalid as submissions and will be rejected.- 2 -
Submissions must have each of the required fields filled out, with further information provided in the fields where it is requested.
If anything is missing, a Staff member will comment on the submission to request that you edit the post before it is counted.
If this information is not provided by the end of the event, the submission is not counted at all.
- 3 -
Submissions must include warnings for content where appropriate. In general, it's better to include too many warnings than not enough.
- 4 -
Submissions must involve at least one canon character that your opponent has listed on their Fandom Hub, otherwise the submission won't count for points.
You may include a canon character from your own Fandom Hub as long as your opponent allows it, and it has equal or less presence in the content as your opponent's character.- 5 -
Submissions involving OCs must involve at least one canon character on an opponent's hub, as an attack against said opponent, and the OC must have less or equal presence than the canon character(s) involved, otherwise the submission won't count for points.
- 6 -
Characters involved in submissions must be fictional characters, either canon or original. We don't allow real people to be depicted in submissions (characters from live action media are fine).
See our FAQ relating to canon characters below.
- 7 -
We allow collaborative submissions only if all collaborators are on the same team. When posting a collaborative submission, you must list all collaborators, and a breakdown explaining which user did what part.- 8 -
If a single character in a multi-character submission is deemed ineligible to score points, the other characters will still score points as long as they follow the above rules with this character excluded.
-
Character Hub Rules
- 1 -
The canon characters you list in your hub must follow our >Rules on Canon Characters<
The bare minimum required for canon characters to be listed in your hub is their full name, the media they're from, and a link to their source.
The source link can be a wiki page for the franchise, an official website, etc.- 2 -
All fan creations you include of the canon character must include some form of credit, such as a link or username. This doesn't need to be done for official media, or media you created yourself.
This includes crediting Picrew or dollmaker artists.
- 3 -
Characters listed must have content warnings if applicable, especially when involving Dead Dove or other sensitive content.
- 4 -
Follow the basic posting template provided >in this thread< when listing your character. You may add to this if you want.
If you wish for the canon character to be depicted alongside an OC, you can include this character's name on your Fandom but, but this character must also be listed in your OC Hub.- 5 -
You may link to off-site character profiles or wiki pages, but the basic information listed in Rule 1 must be in your hub.
- 6 -
We highly recommend making profiles readable in both Light and Dark mode for the accessibility of all users.
-
Canon Character Rules
Please see our >Canon Character Rules< page for more extensive details regarding the use of canon characters
- 1 -
We do not allow any IP/media/project/etc made by any creator who is currently under 18 years of age. We do not allow exceptions to this even for SFW-only content.- 2 -
We expect participants of any/all CreativeClash events to do their best to ensure a work is intended to appeal to a broad audience, and not someone's personal project they are simply sharing online.- 3 -
Any and all canon characters listed in any OC or Fandom Hubs must have a link to the source material. A link to a wiki page (fan-made or otherwise) is sufficient.- 4 -
AUs [alternate universe] and headcanons of canons are allowed; please see our >OC/Canon chart at the bottom of this page< to determine if your AU/headcanon would be considered Original or Canon.Note that AUs of canon characters cannot be listed on both an OC Hub and a Fandom Hub - it must be one or the other, and you may not swap them back and forth between events.

Questions Regarding Canon Characters and Attacks
Here are common questions or situations regarding canon characters, and what is considered 'canon' for BlorboBash.
Can I submit an attack with my OC and my friend's favourite canon character?
Submissions involving canon characters must feature at least one canon character, and submissions must have at least one canon character chosen by an opponent. Without these two they don't count for points. Thus if you want to create something with your OC and a canon character, you must involve at least one canon character chosen by an opponent as well, otherwise it doesn't count for points.
All canon characters must follow our canon character rules linked on this page - >Canon Character Rules<
Can I post a character who is based off of a canon character but isn't actually canon?
We generally allow canon-inspired characters where it is apparent they are more of an original character simply inspired by canon content, rather than simply an AU version of a canon character. (See our "Characters inspired by Canon Characters" chart below.) If your character has their own identity, profile, and/or visual design that reflects they are intended to be different from the canon character inspiration, and they are not just "literally canon character in a different setting," we would consider this an original character, and not canon.
If you are unsure if your character qualifies as a 'canon character' or an original character, you may ask in >Help & Support<
We encourage people to include information on the character's profile to explain who they are to make this clear to everyone, and to ensure they don't get mixed up.
We do not moderate visual similarities as we trust our community to follow our rules. We reserve the right to take down profiles we believe have been made in bad faith.
What qualifies as "canon" when it comes to small-time works, such as webcomics, self-published games, NPCs from game mods, and the like?
We expect people to do their best to ensure a work is intended to appeal to a broader fandom, and not somebody's personal project they are sharing online
Users are welcome to ask for Staff opinion if they're not sure in the >Canon Character Help< thread.
Are there any restrictions on what canon characters I can use?
Yes, there are some restrictions.
We do not allow fandoms/projects that are owned by people currently under the age of 18. If they created the project while under 18 but are now aged 18 or over then this is acceptable.
What about VTubers, or a popular streamer's game avatar, or a popular creator's fursona?
No, these are not allowed; no matter how famous, popular, how many followers they have, nor what company or group they may be affiliated or employed with.
What is the rule on including 'player characters' from video games who don't have a set appearance/name?
Customisable player characters from video games would be considered 'original characters' for the purposes of our events.
Examples:
- Aether/Lumine from Genshin Impact would be allowed as they are canon characters with a set design, even if the player acts as them and can rename them.
- The Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy XIV is not allowed as that is a fully customisable character you can create; however Meteor/Ardbert would be considered canon as he is a canonical character in the FFXIV story.
- Red from Pokemon is a canon character, but your Pokemon trainer who is inspired by him would be their own character.
Wait, someone else already listed a character I like on their Fandom Hub! Can I list them, too, or are there no 'doubles'?
Yes, you can list them, too. We do not have a "no doubles" rule - multiple people may have the same character on their Fandom Hub.
If multiple people have the same character on their hubs, can I attack them all with one submission?
You must draw or depict the character separately (and at least once) for each person you list as a target.
You may draw all instances of the same character into a single submission only if all targets are okay with being included in mass attacks/group submissions.
Additionally, when submitting a group attack, each instance of the character must be clearly identified individually with the specific user they're for. If you do not label your targets, your submission may be rejected.
Can I post a character who is based off of a canon character but isn't actually canon?
In a reversal of our usual Clash rules regarding canon-inspired characters, BlorboBash is all about canon characters! If your canon-based character is very clearly an 'alternate universe' take on a canon character, they are allowed. (See below for clarification on headcanons or AUs.) If your canon-based character is more of an original character that simply draws some inspiration from the canon character, they will likely not be allowed.
We encourage people to include information on the character's profile to explain who they are to make this clear to everyone, and to ensure they don't get mixed up.
We do not moderate visual similarities as we trust our community to follow our rules. We reserve the right to take down profiles we believe have been made in bad faith.
So, would my headcanons be considered canon, or original content? May I request that my headcanons be included?
See the above question regarding what we consider to be canon vs an original character for more detailed info; in general, if you have headcanons for a character that is otherwise canon in profile, design, and setting, we would consider this to still be canon!
You may certainly ask for your headcanons to be included in attacks for you!
If you'd prefer to only receive attacks that include your headcanon(s), you must state as such on your Fandom Hub.What about an AU (alternative universe) version of a canon character?
This is highly variable! If your AU version merely changes one or two features (such as physical appearance, gender, setting, personality, etc) then it is likely to still be 'canon enough' for BlorboBash. Things like modern AUs of fantasy/scifi settings, or genderbends (Rule 34), or personality swaps between canon characters, are likely to still qualify for BlorboBash.
If you're unsure, we recommend that you ask in the >Canon Character Help< thread!
Can I submit an attack with my OC and a canon character?
Submissions that include OCs must feature at least one canon character listed in an opponent's hub. As long as the submission has this, it may include OCs (yours or an opponent's) and/or canon characters on your hub.
If the submission does not include at least one canon character, as listed on an opponent's hub, it will not count for points in BlorboBash. Can I post a submission where a character is interacting with a real person?
All characters involved in submissions must be fictional characters, whether canon or original.
We don't have issue with anyone who indulges in real-person fiction (RPF), however for our events we don't allow submissions involving real people. This extends to content creators, such as YouTubers and streamers. While we allow pairings involving characters from live action media, we not allow depictions of the actors portraying them.
If you're unsure, please feel free to ask for our opinion via the >Help Forum<; or if you'd prefer to converse more privately, you may reach >Staff< via DMs, or opening a ticket in our Discord.
Examples:
- Deadpool is allowed, Ryan Reynolds is not
- Caleb Widogast is allowed, Liam O'Brien is not
- Steve Harrington is allowed, Joe Keery is not
- Wednesday Addams is allowed, Lisa Loring or Jenna Ortega are not
I want to list a character from a qualifying media, but the creator/owner has asked people not to create certain types of fanworks. Can I still list them?
Yes, as long as you are respecting said creator and/or owner's requested limitations and boundaries. If necessary, this must be reflected in the permissions for this character on your Fandom Hub.
As such, we extend good faith to our users and assume everyone is abiding by this policy to the best of their knowledge. If you are found to be requesting or creating content that violates this policy, we will request that you stop, and remove any requests/submissions as necessary. Continuing to do so within CreativeClash spaces may result in a strike.
For example, if Blorbin the Bunnyboy's creator does not want his species or gender changed, nor any R18 made of him, we expect that you will have "Please do not change Blorbin's gender or species, and please keep it SFW" in your permissions for Blorbin.
Am I allowed to list a character from a video game that is otherwise a blank avatar that I have customised? (eg, Lethal Company, Among Us, R.E.P.O., etc)
We have determined the following ruling regarding characters that have no physical attributes and minimal personality/lore in-game.
Generic player avatars are considered canon and thus can be listed in Fandom Hubs UNLESS they have been given extensive lore and characterisation or personalisation, in which case we would consider them OCs and can be listed in OC Hubs.
Example:
A yellow semibot from R.E.P.O. is given the name Bob but no other personalisation, and is written to be in love with a red semibot named Obo. These two are considered canon.A yellow semibot from R.E.P.O is given the name Bob Bernieson who has an ex-wife who they pay child-support to for their babybot and has to work a dead-end job for the Taxman to make enough money to cover it. They are written to be in love with a red semibot named Obo Bobo who is shy and quiet but comes from a rich family that lost all their money to gambling and now Obo has to help them get by. This kind of extended lore and personalisation would make them OCs.

Characters inspired by Canon Characters
We understand that people have characters which are inspired by canon characters, including fictives and kinsonas.
The chart below is help you determine whether or not we might consider your OC to be an original character or a canon character for the purposes of BlorboBash.
This generally depends on two main factors - appearance and backstory. Is their appearance wildly different from their canon appearance, or is it very similar? Do they have the same backstory and personality, or has it been completely changed?
You can place your character on this chart to see where they fit.
Characters falling in the cyan and yellow sections are allowed. If they fall in the pink section, please ask us for clarification. If they fall in the navy section, they are not allowed for BlorboBash. There is a thread in the >Help & Support< forum specifically for asking about these kinds of characters, and if they would be allowed to be listed for the event. (This is only visible to logged in members)
A blank version of this chart is >here< if you'd like to place your own characters on it.
