Rules

The rules for this event are very simple as this is considered a writing challenge instead of a standard Clash event.

• All writing must be done between Nov 1st and Nov 30th
• Drafts and planning can be done early but no actual writing can be counted unless it is done in November
• The subject of the writing can be anything - your OCs, your friend's OCs, fandom characters, any topic/theme/genre, etc
• Writing must be creative fiction, which can include the following types of writing:
  • Novels, stories, poetry
  • Fictional non-fiction (eg, world building, profile writing, etc)
  • Fanfiction of any kind
  • Plays, scripts, theatre writing
  • Collaborative stories and/or written roleplays
• We do not count comics, video games, or academic writing as valid entries for this challenge
• Collaborative works are allowed, and your combined word count can be submitted as long you mention who your collaborator is

How to Take Part

Starting November 1st, you begin writing. You can write about anything and everything you want!

There is no sign-up sheet, you simply begin writing on the opening day, and stop writing at the end of Nov 30th.

You can write multiple writing pieces or one long piece, it is up to you! Your final word count that you tell us can be based on the total writing you've done that month, and it doesn't have to be one individual writing piece.

You will earn a participation badge for posting in the forum at any point during November, even if you don't hit any writing goals. We encourage you to talk to other participants, share ideas, resources, tips and tricks!

At the end of the month you must submit your final word count total into the >final word count thread<. We will award you with one badge based on your total word count for the month.

• 5000 (5k) words
• 10,000 (10k) words
• 25,000 (25k) words
• 50,000 (50k) words

For example - if your final word count is 8450 words you would earn the 5k Words badge, if you wrote 19670 words you would earn the 10k Words badge.

FAQ

Do I have to submit my writing to be awarded my badge?

Nope! You only need to submit your final word count. We trust you to be honest with this number as this is a writing challenge for you, not a competition against other users.

Can I write about content that is currently not allowed to be posted on the CC site?

Yes, you can write about anything you want. As we don't require you to submit what you write, this means you have no limitations on the content you can write about.

Can I write about someone else's OCs in my story?

Yes, as long as you have permission from the creator to use them.

Can I write fanfiction, self-inserts, and/or self-shipping?

Yes, the only limit to what content you can write about is your imagination. We allow everything.

Can I write a bunch of small fics, or does it have to be one long story?

Yes, you can write as many individual stories as you like. The badge at the end is awarded on your total word count overall for the month, not the length of one individual story.

• Example - if you write 5 fics that are 2500 words each, your final word count will be 12,500.
